Fasting according to Syara' is refraining from matters that invalidate the fast starting from dawn to dusk, accompanied by intention. However, a fast that is loved by Allah Subhanahu Wata'ala is not merely one that is only valid in fiqh or Islamic jurisprudence, but also preserves the morals. Hence, Rasulullah Sallahu 'Alaihi Wassalam in the hadith reminds that fasting is a shield for Muslims from committing sins and Hellfire. It is also a shield that cultivates patience and restrains a person's desires. This was highlighted in the Friday Sermon titled 'Welcome Ramadhan.' The sermon highlighted that among the popular trends during Ramadhan is breaking the fast outside the home, whether at food stalls, restaurants, or recreational areas.

However, there are several important matters to consider when breaking the fast outside. First, perform the fardhu prayer on time, do not get carried away with eating until the time for performing the prayer has passed. Secondly, perform the Sunat Tarawih prayers. Said prayer is significant as it can only be done in Ramadhan nights. Hence, take this opportunity throughout the holy month to perform it alongside reading Al-Qur'an, spend time at the mosque, and increase other acts of worship. Next is avoiding makruh acts such as overeating, and avoid wasting food. Lastly is wearing appropriate attire and covers a person's modesty.
